ABBYY Recognition Server provides powerful server-based OCR functionality for automated document capture and PDF conversion. Designed for mid- to high-volume batch processing, it enables organizations and scanning service providers to establish cost-efficient processes for converting paper, as well as TIFF, JPEG, and PDF image documents into electronic files suitable for full-text search and long-term digital archiving.

Recognition Server automatically acquires images from scanners, files, fax and e-mail servers, and Microsoft SharePoint libraries perform server-side optical character recognition (OCR) and enables the addition of metadata. The results are delivered directly to network folders, SharePoint libraries or other storage and management systems and in any of a wide range of formats. These include MRC-compressed searchable PDF or PDF/A files, XML data, editable documents such as Microsoft Word and Excel® files, and plain text files.

Recognition Server’s distributed and highly scalable architecture means it can run on multiple servers within a network and convert high volumes of documents in a short time. It’s quick deployment, easy administration and automated work routines make Recognition Server an investment that brings fast returns.
